Attendance at dueling fairs ends up lower than last year

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Another year in the books for the downtown Fargo street fair. So how is attendance sizing up with the dueling fairs?

So far, more than 80 thousand people have come through the gates at the Red River Valley Fair. That fair ends after midnight. Last year, 120 thousand people came. Organizers are hoping to meet that total again this year.

The turnout at the street fair is down. Organizers blame the weather.

“We've always got at least one day of rain here at the Red River Valley Fair and we plan for it.”

Stephanie Holland: “looking at the street, I would think it was about 10-oclock and its after one so the crowd looks good.”

The midway tops off the fair in West Fargo.
