PARSHALL, N.D. (AP) — Parshall's school district plans to begin construction next month on a $1.5 million elementary addition.
Superintendent Steve Cascaden says the district is adding four classrooms and finishing a kitchen remodeling project. The work should be done by next summer. It's being paid for through the school district's general fund, without a property tax increase.
Cascaden says overcrowding has been a problem at the school. He says some teachers and counselors have offices in remodeled store rooms.
The building was constructed in the 1950s at a time when less classroom space was needed and there weren't as many special services provided.
