Fargo-area authorities probe bogus bills

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Authorities are investigating possible connections between a counterfeiting arrest in West Fargo and a recent rash of bogus bills showing up at Fargo-area businesses.

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — Authorities are investigating possible connections between a counterfeiting arrest in West Fargo and a recent rash of bogus bills showing up at Fargo-area businesses.

Fargo police have investigated 13 cases of counterfeit bills passed at businesses since May 15, the latest on Monday. Police in Moorhead, Minn., also have taken reports of counterfeit money recently.

Fargo police Sgt. Mark Lykken says authorities are looking into whether those cases might be connected to the arrest Sunday in West Fargo of a 21-year-old Moorhead, Minn., man accused of using three fake $20 bills at a convenience store.
