Cavalier Air Force Station hosts open houseGRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A little-known radar base in northeast North Dakota is opening its doors to the public.
The Cavalier Air Force Station is holding an open house from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
The Pembina County base just south of the Canadian border is home to the 10th Space Warning Squadron. During the Cold War the station's purpose was to track enemy ballistic missiles. Now, airmen do mainly space surveillance.
