Re-planting project started in Wadena
Wadena, Minn. (WDAY TV) - There is an effort in Wadena to go green and put the tornado in the past. A group has started the "Wadena Area Re-plant Project.”By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
It wants to raise 100-thousand dollars to re-plant 10-thousand trees. The tornado didn't just damage homes and businesses. It uprooted hundreds, maybe thousands of trees in the area.
The goal is to bring back as many trees as possible that were lost to the EF-4 tornado.
“We decided; let's try to do something forward-looking. We're going to clean up the mess, but what are we going to do after that, well we're going to start replanting trees.”
The community is partnering with the Soil and Water Conservation Department to raise the money.
