MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Minnesota man has filed a civil complaint in federal court for injuries suffered from a fall into the wading pool of a Rugby motel.
Glen Matthews is suing the motel and a Rugby radio station for the incident, which happened during a February 2008 agriculture show. He says he broke his leg, sprained his right wrist and suffered numerous scrapes and bruises.
Matthews says the Rugby Econolodge and KZZJ-AM radio were negligent for not providing a barrier between the pool area and the hospitality rooms for the show. He's seeking nearly $70,000 in economic damages and more than $50,000 in other damages.
Lawyers for the motel and radio station have not responded to the lawsuit.
