EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Police in Minnesota say a toddler found wandering on a dark highway early Tuesday was unharmed.

Eagan (EE'-gan) Police Officer Danielle Anselment says a passing motorist found the 3-year-old boy walking down Highway 55 about 2:45 a.m. Andelment says the child was about a half-mile from his home.

The boy's parents called police about 5:30 a.m. when they discovered their son was missing. Andelment says the boy apparently got out of his home by using an electric garage door opener. Paramedics say the child was not injured.

Anselment says the boy is being held for 72 hours by social service workers.
