Truck driver's injuries not life-threatening after accident near Hawley

HAWLEY, Minn. – The driver of a semi truck was injured this morning when the truck ran off Highway 10 near Hawley, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

HAWLEY, Minn. – The driver of a semi truck was injured this morning when the truck ran off Highway 10 near Hawley, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.

Dispatchers called for ambulance crews to respond to the accident at 29001 Highway 10, between Hawley and Lake Park, at about 7:40 a.m.

Dennis H. Wright, 47, of Verndale, lost control of the westbound truck and trailer and went through the median, ending up on the eastbound side of the highway, the patrol stated in a news release.

Wright was airlifted to MeritCare Hospital in Fargo for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, the release stated.

Diesel fuel from the truck tank spilled into the median. The truck was towed from the scene.

Assisting at the scene were Hawley fire and rescue crews, the Minnesota Department of Tranpsortation and FM Ambulance.
