Moorhead native still adjusting to being a celebrity

(WDAY TV) - Another one of the celebrities at the Maris this weekend was figure skater and Moorhead native Mark Ladwig.

He is still in the glow of his 10th place showing in the pairs program at this year's winter Olympics.

Things got better for Ladwig when and his partner Amanda Evora took 9th at the world championships, now he's adjusting to being a celebrity.

“The Olympics has definitely changed the number of people stopping by the rink. We have people that show up just to watch practices. We have a lot of hometown events. I had an elementary school ask for a picture for their auction lately, and it's been great to help out and use some of my notoriety to help the valley.”

Ladwig says he and Evora are taking aim at the World Championships in July.
