Richard Maris aced the 152-yard fourth hole using a 7-iron on Monday at the Roger Maris Celebrity Benefit Golf Tournament at Fargo's Rose Creek Golf Course. His mother, Pat, was one of the witnesses.
Roger Maris, the late New York Yankees great, grew up in Fargo. The tournament that carries his name raises money for cancer work. It has been held annually for nearly three decades.
