Bemidji woman, three horses injured in accident

At 3:45 p.m. Friday, the Minnesota State Patrol based in Thief River Falls responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 2 near Bagley.

At 3:45 p.m. Friday, the Minnesota State Patrol based in Thief River Falls responded to a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 2 near Bagley.

Anna B. Meredith, 73, of Bemidji, was driving a 2009 Lexus east on Highway 2 in the left lane when she drove over the center line and sideswiped a horse trailer being pulled by a 2007 Four 1-ton pickup driven by Shirley A. Iverson, 54, of Scappoose, Ore.

Meredith was taken to Clearwater County Memorial Hospital in Bagley with non-life-threatening injuries. Her three passengers were uninjured.The Lexus was totaled. Iverson and her passenger were uninjured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Three of the four horses in the trailer had slight injuries and were examined by a local veterinarian. The trailer sustained moderate damage.
