Golfers say the weather started perfect and became a bit windy toward the end of the round. One group was able to fight that breeze and nearly average a birdie on every hole, putting up a 17 under 54.
High or low scores coordinators call it the best tournament around for a reason.
“We've had great celebrities over the years. It has always been great, they've always been helpful and they go out and get us other celebrities so we get the word around.”
Two more tournament rounds will be played tomorrow. This evening the annual auction took place. This year they had both a silent and live auction. Such items as a Joe Mauer autographed jersey and autographed Roger Maris photo ball could be purchased.
Of course the money taken from these auctions goes to numerous charities. In the previous 26 tournaments and auctions, they have raised more than 1.4 million dollars.
