Moorhead and Fargo fire crews are using a flood buyout home in Moorhead for rescue training. They've been allowed to cut some holes in the home, so they can practice getting people out of floor collapses and other tight spaces.
They're also practicing window rescues.
“When we're able to train realistically how to rescue victims, it makes all the difference for when we have an actual working incident. It might be your mom, son , daughter in the house and it could be the difference between doing it well or taking a lot longer to get it done.”
Wallin says they hope to be able to burn some future flood buyout homes for live fire training.
