Fargo man arrested for having consensual sex with a minor

45-year old Thomas Meyer faces three charges including gross sexual imposition and possession of child porn. He was arrested Tuesday.

Meyer is accused of having many conversations in an online chat room with a juvenile. The two exchanged explicit sexual photos.

That's where the pornography charges come in. Meyer and the 16-year old Fargo boy talked for awhile before meeting for sex. Police say the acts and contact were consensual.

“This particular case was brought to our attention by a mandatory reporter who had information that made them believe that the child had been a victim of sexual assault.”

Meyer could face more charges.
