Bison Track star to make her 3rd straight trip to the USA Championships
(WDAY Sports) - There's another sort of racing going on Wednesday in Iowa as the USA Track and Field Championships get underway in Des Moines.By: Dom Izzo, WDAY
There are several local representatives including former Bison star Laura Janishefsky, formally Hermanson.
She is the school record holder in the 800 meters who is back for her 3rd straight trip to the USA Championships. She's been racing professionally this year, with her best time at 2:03, nearly two seconds slower than her record time.
“This year has been a confidence check for me. Just to remember that I belong in these races. There are new faces and now I'm footing the bill. I don't really call myself professional right now, I call myself post collegiate.”
Six other local track stars will be in Iowa this week including Laura Roesler.
