With hail and heavy rain pounding the north side of West Fargo, roads and ditches turned into waterways on the outskirts of town. In town, minutes after the downpour, some of the busiest roads in the metro were either blocked or under water. The 4-inches of rain that fell so quickly, it left drivers on 13th Avenue plowing thru water. Some stalled.
“I didn't think it was that deep.”
Others risked it.
“People need to use common sense on what their cars can and cannot do.”
In the residential neighborhoods of West Fargo, intersections were barely passable. There was just nowhere for the water to go. Drivers stopped short of the flooded roads and left his car near the curb and walked.
“I stood there and watched other cars go in and I thought this is not going to happen.”
So much water that Eastwood canceled summer school, calling parents to pick up their children, but they could hardly get there.
Not often you have ski-boat type wakes washing up on front yards. Kids on bikes didn't mind. Either did this duck who had 13th Avenue all to herself.
