Fire kills Thompson man
THOMPSON, N.D. (AP) — A 78-year-old Thompson man is dead following a fire overnight at a home in the northeast North Dakota town.
Bob Rost of the Grand Forks sheriff's office identified the victim as Norman Fillbrandt.
Thompson police chief Dale Johnson says fire crews from Thompson, Reynolds and Manvel responded to the call about 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. He says the garage was gutted and there was a lot of smoke damage to the breezeway.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
