Link honored by US House
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. House of Representatives on Thursday held a moment of silence in memory of the late Art Link.
The former North Dakota governor, congressman and state legislator died June 1 at age 96.
North Dakota Democratic Rep. Earl Pomeroy asked for the moment of silence about 12:30 p.m. Central time.
Link was elected to Congress in 1970 and served one term before North Dakota lost a House seat due to reapportionment. He went on to serve two four-year terms as governor starting in 1973.
