Street Faire vendor offers a well-deserved, unique treat

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Let's face it. While many come for the arts and crafts, it is the fried food of a fair that reels people in. One food vendor had a corner on the market.

On one of June's first sunny, summer days, the sun baked down on those who lined up in droves at the Uff Da Taco stand.

You won't find anything Scandinavian at this Uff Da Taco stand. The owner, Greg Parenteau, a good Frenchman employs a kitchen full of his kids and nephews from Erskine, Minnesota to crank out the Uff Da Tacos with fried bread, beef, lettuce and tomatoes.

From March thru October, Parenteau will hit fairs and festivals filled with people who are more than eager to spend a buck on a well deserved treat after a long cold winter.

Uff Da Tacos started 28-years ago in Mentor, Minnesota.
