3 Bison women enter NCAA Track and Field Championships
(WDAY Sports) - The NCAA Track and Field Championships got underway this afternoon out in Oregon. Last year, NDSU announced its presence at the event when Laura Hermanson finished 2nd in the 800 meter final.By: Dom Izzo, WDAY
Three more Bison women entered the competition this year. Lake Park-Audubon's Toni Tollefson was in the finals of the high jump.
Tollefson though had her struggles as she no-heighted on her 3 attempts during the high jump.
Meanwhile, the heptathlon also got underway today. The 2nd event was the high jump. Mandan native Heather Zander cleared five feet 3 inches, but that was as high as she went in the event.
After the first four events of the heptathlon, Zander sits in 11th place with 3245 points, almost 400 points out of first. Whitney Carlson sits in 18th with 3 more events coming tomorrow.
