Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A former F-M Beez basketball player is pleading guilty to a less serious crime.

A felony charge against 38-year old Quennon Echols is being dropped in exchange for the guilty plea to preventing arrest, a misdemeanor.

He'll be on 18-months probation. Echols was arrested as he was trying to give insulin to his diabetic girlfriend.

She'd collapsed at a bar and police say Echols wouldn't back away, and a scuffle ensued. The 7-foot-tall Echols is a former center for the Beez, Fargo's now-defunct C-B-A team.
