Police departments collaborate on search for wanted Chicago man

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - The investigation into a murder case has brought authorities from a Chicago suburb and Fargo together all with one goal: Find Eric Gilford. Police want to question him after his pregnant wife was stabbed to death and his car turned up, windows open and unlocked with the keys inside in downtown Fargo.

Villa Park police and Air Force officials are in town today looking over the car, searching for any leads as to where Gilford is now. 31-year old Eric Gilford is wanted for questioning involving the brutal murder of his wife, Kristine Gilford, who was 5 months pregnant.

The murder happened Wednesday. on Thursday police found his car parked downtown Fargo.

SGT. Mark Lykken: "He may be here he may be gone, but we are assisting them, its their investigation and we'll aid them any way that they would like us to."

Authorities from the three departments searched Gilfords car. They are keeping quiet about any leads they may have received. But they do say having investigators from the three departments in one city is crucial.

SGT. Mark Lykken: "They'll be right there with us and they, rather than relay it through three different people, they can ask the questions right there and we can hopefully come to answer their questions."

Police are not telling us if Gilford has any family in the area or why his car ended up here, but they do say it's likely that Gilford is no longer in the area. Police say you should still be on the lookout Gilford, but they say it does not appear he had any intentions of staying in our area.
