Downtown Detroit Lakes prepares for 10th annual Street Faire

Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Part of downtown Detroit Lakes is closed off as artists and food vendors invade the area for the 10th annual Street Faire at the Lakes. This year comes with a major switch-up.

Tomorrow at this time, you won't see cars on Washington Avenue. You'll see vendors lining the middle of the street all the way from Frazee Street to Highway 10.

For the first time ever, the faire will be held on Friday and Saturday, instead of Saturday and Sunday. That's so people who work in the DL area or who head out of town for the weekend can still take part. Expect to see just over 120 booths featuring homemade art, plus, food and other activities.

This part of Holmes Street will be closed as well. That's where you'll find the food, drinks, live music and a street dance Friday night. Tomorrow, vendors are open 11 to 8, with Eagles Bingo from 5:30 to 8, and a street dance from 9 to 1.
