Thief crashes after stealing car that was having its brakes repaired

Perham, Minn. (WDAY TV) - It went from bad to worse to embarrassing for a would-be car thief in Perham.
Police say a man stole an Audi Quattro from a homeowner’s driveway. The keys were left in the car, but the owner had removed the car's master cylinder to repair the brakes.
The thief took the car, slammed into a tree when he couldn't stop and hit the windshield. He was treated at the local hospital. Charges are expected to be filed soon.
