FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The new North Dakota State president says he will be "highly interested and highly involved" with Bison athletics.
Dean Bresciani (bruh-SHAW'-nee) also says he won't be a micromanager but will look to athletic director Gene Taylor for guidance.
Bresciani comes from a Big 12 Conference school in Texas A&M, a high major program that has an 82,000-seat football stadium. As the vice president of student affairs, he dealt with athletics a lot.
Bresciani says athletics are a huge part of the campus culture, and strong athletic programs are critical to the success of the university.
Bresciani officially begins his duties in Fargo on June 15.
