Rail cars tip, spill soybeans in eastern ND townHATTON, N.D. (AP) — Crews have been working in Hatton to clean up from a train derailment that spilled soybeans and restricted travel through much of the eastern North Dakota town.
Traill County deputy sheriff Conrad Steinhaus says a car on the Burlington Northern Santa Fe train jumped the tracks about 4:30 p.m. Saturday, causing it and seven others to tip.
No injuries were reported.
The derailment blocked several rail crossings around town, and Steinhaus said it could take until Sunday afternoon before the tracks are clear.
BNSF officials say the 105-car train was heading from Mayville to the Pacific Northwest.
