There are two bars in Napoleon. One wants to be smoke-free, the other does not. City Attorney Gerald Kuhn says a citizen petition brought the matter to a vote. If the measure passes, both bars would have to ban smoking within 60 days.
Deran Piatz, who manages The Downtowner, says that bar wants to go smoke-free, but not on its own.
Susie White, owner of Freddie's, says smoking and drinking "go together like ice cream and chocolate."
