Police unable to tranquilize a coyote found wondering through area neighborhoods

West Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Police in Fargo and West Fargo spent about an hour trying to capture a coyote that was wandering through some neighborhoods last night.
Officers got a call about the animal just before 9:00 last night near 16th Avenue and 14th Street in West Fargo. The coyote had a wounded leg and appeared to be disoriented.
Officers tried to shoot it with a tranquilizer, but the animal ran. Fargo police later cornered the coyote in the parking lot of Scheels, but it escaped once again and hasn't been seen since. Officers don't think the animal is a danger to the public.
