Mahnomen man accused of taking $11,000 from the White Earth Veterans Association

Mahnomen, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Mahnomen man is accused of taking $11-thousand dollars that was supposed to go to the White Earth Reservation Veterans Association.
37-year-old Lenard Mason was commander of the association when he allegedly cashed two quarterly checks from the tribal council. Mason allegedly forged a name on the back of the checks and cashed them at a bank in Ogema.
Mason allegedly admitted to using the money to pay his personal bills and expenses.
