MINOT, N.D. (AP) — A Rolette man accused of firing a shotgun into a crowd of people after a dispute at a bar has been sentenced to two years of probation on an assault charge.
Acting U.S. Attorney Lynn Jordheim says 58-year-old Leslie Thomas was at a bar north of Dunseith in November 2008 when he got into a dispute with a group of people.
Jordheim says Thomas retrieved a shotgun and ammunition from his vehicle and shot into the crowd, hitting two people. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
