GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Peregrine falcons that call Grand Forks home have returned, even though their old hangout is gone.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Peregrine falcons that call Grand Forks home have returned, even though their old hangout is gone.

The falcons used to nest on a water tower that was torn down last fall. Birder Dave Lambeth says the birds this spring are nesting on the University of North Dakota water tower down the street.

In late May, raptor experts will visit the nest, tag any hatchlings they find and assign them names.

Records at the Midwest Peregrine Database indicate that the birds Terminator and Roosevelt had three young in Grand Forks last year.
