FARGO, N.D. (AP) - The Dakotas are not immune to the problems resulting from the disruption of air travel in Europe caused by an ash cloud from an Iceland volcano.

A North Dakota State University researcher is among those stranded. Vickie Johnston-Gelling says she hopes to make it home to Fargo from Denmark by Wednesday night. Wednesday is her son's fifth birthday.

Grand Forks travel consultant Carol Tufte-Barbeau says she has clients stranded in London and Amsterdam.

In South Dakota, Sioux Falls School District official Bob Jensen and his wife are stranded in England, where they went to visit family. They hope to fly back on Saturday.
