Luminaries lit around the track symbolize the ones who lost their battle with cancer and those who have survived it. The teams who signed up to walk already raised 21-thousand dollars.

Relay officials say a few thousand more is expected from all the activities throughout the night.

"There is such a great turnout already and its kind of promising to see that this generation does care and they do see it as a matter of concern to society."

Proceeds from the walk will go to the American Cancer Society. Walkers will be out on the track until 2:30 A.M.
