New building opens for the ND Highway Patrol

(WDAY TV) - After sharing a building with the North Dakota DOT for more than 20 years, the North Dakota Highway Patrol has its own new facility.

Troopers have a much bigger space now, enough to hold regional meetings, and training sessions. Before, they had to go to other buildings, like the Armory to have those types of events.

Other benefits of the new building are garages where troopers can store their cars, or bring in vehicles to search. But troopers say the biggest benefit so far is the boost in morale.

“They come in to a new office space; they're not bumping shoulders and elbows with guys during shift changes and stuff like that. Just to have a nice new area for them to work out of is a huge morale booster.”

The Highway Patrol moved in to the building about a month ago.
