Fargo woman turns to Craigslist for help solving crime
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It's a first for the city of Fargo, someone turning to online social networking sites to solve a crime.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
A woman posted a Craigslist ad to get information about a group of juveniles that stole her belongings. She's offering a reward to get the items back.
Police aren't surprised people are starting to take matters into their own hands like this because of the technology and tools now available online. Still, it could lead to problems like being robbed again or hurt.
“So you always have to be cautious when you use Craigslist, but as with any social media if this will help get your property back and solve the case, we're all for it.”
Police don't condone nor encourage people to take measures online to help investigations. They expect more to do so though.
