School leaders send out warning about TwitterFargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Fargo Public schools leaders are sending out a word of warning about Twitter.

They're letting staff know whenever they "tweet" from a cell phone, their latitude and longitude coordinates are being monitored.
The assistant to the superintendent, Lowell Wolff is sending out the information Friday, in the district's weekly newsletter. He says people can only be tracked when the use their cell phone.
Newer cell phones have GPS technology in them for emergency purposes. Wolff is concerned criminals could take the information, and use it to cause harm.
“This means that if people know where you are, people know where you aren't. For example, at home, which prompted another website to be started called, "Please rob me."
Wolff says the same technology can be used if people update their Facebook via cell phone.
