Boy suspended after bringing gun to Minn. school

COOK, Minn. (AP) - An elementary school student in Cook has been suspended after authorities say he brought an unloaded handgun to school to show his friends.

COOK, Minn. (AP) - An elementary school student in Cook has been suspended after authorities say he brought an unloaded handgun to school to show his friends.

Superintendent Charles Rick says the gun was confiscated and no one was hurt.

The gun was found in class. Deputies from the St. Louis County sheriff's office were called to the school about 10:40 a.m. Tuesday and took the boy into custody.

Supervising Deputy Joe Skofich says the boy was in a juvenile holding center in Duluth on Wednesday, pending charges. The case is under investigation.
