BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A man who tried to dispose of a mobile methamphetamine lab while eluding law enforcement on a high-speed chase has been sentenced to 15 years in prison.
Twenty-seven-year-old David Pankowski was sentenced after pleading guilty to drug and fleeing charges. Two counts of reckless endangerment were dropped as part of a plea agreement.
Pankowski was arrested Oct. 17 after leading police on a chase through a construction zone on U.S. Highway 83 in McLean County. Sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol troopers used spike strips to blow out Pankowski's tires but authorities say he tried to continue driving, while also throwing things out of the window of his car.
When he was arrested, Pankowski had listed addresses in Mandan, Dickinson and Williston.
