The check will go to pay for a new disaster response vehicle for the Red Cross. The chapter serves 27 different counties in its region.
Workers say this gift will allow them to respond better to emergency situations, whether it's a fire or a natural disaster, like a flood or tornado. The Red Cross workers and volunteers say they never expected a gift like this.
“Red Cross, we're so proud as staff and as volunteers to work for Red Cross. And to have this type of community support from local corporations like state farm is really overwhelming.”
The chapter plans to start looking for the new vehicle today. They hope to have it ready for use in a couple weeks.
