Minnesota Senator tours areas affected by the river

Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - For the 2nd time in two weeks U.S. Senator Al Franken was in Moorhead.

By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY

He talked with local leaders and took a tour of areas affected by the river.

Franken was in East Grand Forks before visiting Moorhead. He says the difference is remarkable, and is all the more reason this area needs permanent flood protection.

Franken says as high as the water is, the quick protection plan speaks volumes about this area.

"It's great to see a community come together and it's great to see leaders of a community execute something this well."

Franken says the flood fight just underscores the need for permanent protection. His flood tour took him to Breckenridge after leaving Moorhead.
