Students rewarded for sandbag effort
(WDAY TV) – Once again, area students have pulled through to help sandbag and protect Fargo.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
To thank them for their hard work, city leaders are putting together a scholarship.
Five scholarships worth 2-thousand dollars a piece will be given out. Money will be taken from the Dakota Medical foundation and the Spirit of Fargo fund.
Only high school and college students will be eligible. The scholarships will be based on merit and hard work.
“Oak Grove students are kind of distracted somewhat with the tournaments right now, so we don't want to time it in a way that they would be left out.”
12 hundred students volunteered yesterday, today 16 hundred answered the call.
