Crews get a feel for the Wild Rice River's speed and depth

(WDAY TV) - The U-S Geologic Survey spent time on the Wild Rice in Richland County today.

Crews dropped a device down into the water at a number of points to get a better feel for how deep the water and how fast it's moving.

There's no gauge in that area so this information will be valuable.

The USGS will send it on to the National Weather service so it can make more accurate predictions.

In that area, Richland County Road 2 between I-29 and Walcott went under today.
