Overland flooding shuts down area roads

(WDAY TV) - A word of caution if you're driving on I-94 between Fargo and Valley City. Overland flooding is forcing authorities to shut down traffic to one lane near Oriska.

Cones and patrols are set up. The ditch is filled with several feet of freezing water, lapping against interstate. Water has gone down but drivers are still told to slow down and watch for washed up debris.

Some rural roads are taking on water, and off-limits to anyone who doesn't live in the area. This is Cass County-17, just West of Harwood.

Overland flood waters are now flowing over the road. Crews today put up a road closed sign, but local traffic is being allowed to use the road. But if you're not a local, stay away.

The Point and Sorlie Bridges connecting Grand Forks and East Grand Forks are now closed. This after the Red River reached the 44 foot mark there.
