Anti-Pomeroy ad suggests ND voters call NH
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A television ad that opposes health care legislation in Congress is urging viewers to call North Dakota Rep. Earl Pomeroy — at a telephone number in New Hampshire.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A television ad that opposes health care legislation in Congress is urging viewers to call North Dakota Rep. Earl Pomeroy — at a telephone number in New Hampshire.
The ad is sponsored by a Washington group called the League of American Voters. It says supporters of the health care measure "want Pomeroy as a deciding vote in a last-minute deal."
The ad shows a photo of Pomeroy. Underneath it is a phone number for the Manchester office of New Hampshire Democratic Rep. Carol Shea-Porter.
A League of American Voters spokesman did not respond to a request for comment.
North Dakota Democratic chairman Mark Schneider says a group shouldn't be giving health care advice if it can't tell the difference between North Dakota and New Hampshire.
