Rural areas welcome volunteer sandbaggers
Oxbow, ND (WDAY TV) - In an area between Fargo and Oxbow, some of the rural developments welcomed volunteer sandbaggers this afternoon.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Just east of Highway 81 south of here, some homeowners deal with both overland flooding from the Wild Rice and high levels from the Red. Members of the North Dakota Civil Air Patrol joined Fargo South students in filling bags at homes in that area.
Some homes here last year were lost to the high water, so this year homeowners are preparing for the worst.
“We have to do something. The county and the city, we need to do something, this is ridiculous. Mentally you can't we had a good turn out today but it is not the same people as last year and how deep can you go to the well, how many times.”
This year, it appears the town of Oxbow may see a crest tomorrow, without seeing any major problems.
