Spider sandbagging machine getting use in Moorhead
Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - One of the Spider sandbagging machines should be up and running tomorrow in Moorhead. Crews are still working out the kinks today.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
The problem they're running in to is bringing in the conveyer belts that run sand up to the top of the machine. The ground is extremely soggy and it's been hard for crews to maneuver equipment.
“The volunteers are still doing a bang up job over there, throwing sand by hand and they're cranking out a fair amount of bags also. I'm not sure head count there either, but there are a lot of boxes, full bags coming out of that building also.”
There is a second spider machine, but that one won't be ready by tomorrow.
