Firefighters rescue Minn. woman from flooded home

PILLAGER, Minn. (AP) - A central Minnesota woman had to be rescued by boat from her home after an ice jam on the Crow Wing River led to flooding.

PILLAGER, Minn. (AP) - A central Minnesota woman had to be rescued by boat from her home after an ice jam on the Crow Wing River led to flooding.

Officials say a few homes in Cass County and in Morrison County along the river were evacuated Tuesday. Mary Rudolph says firefighters used a boat to rescue her and her three dogs from her home near Pillager.

According to the National Weather Service, the Crow Wing River southeast of Pillager rose from 5.62 feet on Sunday afternoon to 8.34 feet by early Wednesday morning.

Pillager Fire Chief Randy Lee says the river increased about 8 inches in the half-hour rescuers were at Rudolph's home.

The National Weather Service warns more ice jams are possible as ice makes its way from Lake Placid through the river.
