Fargo students lend a handFargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Today, hundreds of 8th graders from Fargo Public Schools filled sandbags to help in the flood fight. Teachers say it was life lesson that couldn't be taught in a classroom.
This energetic bunch is the youngest group of volunteers that Fargo's sandbag central has seen so far. But age is no barrier to their value as volunteers. Their hands help keep a second spider machine going, which fills 5-thousand bags per hour.
Dozens of students also fill by hand to help Fargo reach its goal of one million sandbags.
“You kind of get exhausted and you meet a lot of people, and it's kind of fun too.”
Ben Franklin 8th graders will be in and out of here helping out through Wednesday.
