Fargo Police on the lookout for a high-risk sex offender

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A high risk sex offender is on the loose after cutting off his GPS monitoring device.

After spending time in prison, 24 year old Thomas Jose Eppler lived here at 528 27th Street North. He only stayed five days before fleeing. Eppler was convicted for a 2007 sexual assault in Burleigh County.

Police says he was waiting on paperwork to move home to Iowa and finish his probation there, when his landlord, another sex offender, complained about him not doing anything. Eppler fled before his parole officer arrived to check on him.

Nichtern says Eppler was not in trouble gain, but by fleeing, he's in violation of probation and depending where he goes, he could face federal charges. Nichtern says the public shouldn't panic, but Eppler is high risk. If you have any information on his whereabouts, call Fargo Police.
