MINNEWAUKAN, N.D. (AP) — The city of Minnewaukan is holding a public meeting to talk about the challenges posed by the rising Devils Lake.
Mayor Trish McQuoid says diking to protect the school's gym will be one of the topics on March 30.
McQuoid says she doesn't know if the city has enough money to meet its share of the cost of flood-protection projects. But she says she thinks most residents want to stay and keep battling the ever-rising lake.
Devils Lake has more than tripled in size since the early 1990s because of a series of wet years.
